Traffic Sources

Although I will provide you with the exact same two traffic sources I use, do not consider yourself obligated to use them if you already have a dependable traffic source of your own.

I use these traffic sources because they work and because it’s easy. I like easy stuff that works.

My two main sources of traffic now are Facebook And Youtube. Both of those are covered in the free and paid traffic sources tabs in your left-side menu.

Listed below is my old favorites… I’ll tell you why they are both still valuable and why I moved away from one of them.

My [old] two traffic sources; OTP for search engine traffic & A very specific place where I buy solo-ads.

OTP Search Engine Traffic
Organic Traffic Platform (OTP)
This setup creates beyond massive numbers of webpages that are indexed into search engines (like google) and are basically used as clickbait.

When someone clicks on your search engine listing, a webpage opens that has an overlay containing your clickbait.

Once the visitor clicks it, they are taken to your selected IIM funnel.

Once they land on your funnel, they are enticed to provide you with their name/email.

So, only the most motivated people (highest quality of traffic) is exposed to your offer, whether that is one of your internal offers or a funnel that collects the lead and sends them on to some affiliate offer.

The thing to understand about search engine traffic is that although it is highly targeted traffic, it is still considered as cold traffic.

Meaning, that visitor does not know you on any level.

So, by default, conversions are lower with this type of traffic, but because it is search engine traffic, you can ramp up the volume to extremely high levels so that you have a genuinely massive flow of fresh traffic coming in daily.

And although there is some expense associated with this method (domain names/hosting), it is ultimately the lowest cost targeted traffic you could ever get… and it is unlimited.

I still use this method extensively. The drawback to this method is that it takes time to build up to insane traffic levels, and those domains/hosting accounts must be managed long term.

I can personally assure you that if you built up to the point of 1000+ domains, keeping track of everything becomes a time consuming job. Not a hard job, but time consuming. Unfortunately, I am always short on time.

Solo Ad Traffic

I’ll list near the bottom of this message why I walked away from it.

The right solo ad traffic is by far the most powerful traffic that anyone can get. It is not only laser targeted, but it is also pre-warmed.

Using the right solo ad supplier, you never have to write up an email to send out. Instead, the guy who owns that list, who knows his list, will write and send that email out for you.

So, the person receiving the email knows/trusts/respects the person who is promoting your link for you.

This is by far, the very best traffic that can be achieved… It is also expensive (for people with a small budget to work with).

With this traffic, you could build a list of 10,000 engaged subscribers in a single day… If you could afford it 🙂

I personally do a mix of both traffic sources.

I spend a few hours per week continually building my free traffic (search engine traffic) via OTP, and once per week, I make a solo ad spend.

This setup ensures me that my list is growing daily, and once per week, I get a nice big influx of new subscribers.

Now, since your initial list size goal should be around 10,000 subscribers, you aren’t likely able to afford to buy them all at once.

Why? Because the real world just doesn’t work that way. let’s look at a realistic example.

Let’s say you buy 1,000 clicks for $1 per…. A $1,000 list building spend.

Of those 1000 that see your offer, we’ll say that only 200 actually opted into your list.

That means you actually paid about $5 per subscriber, and of those 200, we’ll say only 100 actually become engaged and good list members who will spend money on the things you promote.

Now it means that you ended up paying around $10 per useful subscriber.

I can hear your head screaming right now – Holy Smokes! I could never afford that I could never build 10,000 subscribers at a cost of $10 per – That’s just crazy!

I get it! Luckily, that isn’t how it all plays out in real life.

Fortunately for all of us marketers, a list is sort of like a bank account that pays compound interest! Compound interest is how people get rich 🙂

So let’s keep looking… You plopped down your cash and got a list going! And out of your list, you got 100 buyers… but they won’t buy all at once or everything you promote.

So, let’s say that collectively on that tiny list you make 10 sales per week with an average income of $15 per transaction.

150×4=$600

So, you made over half of your money back in that first month.

So you go back to buy another thousand – This time, you only have $400 coming out of pocket because you rolled those profits.

So, by this login, by the end of month two, if the numbers stay similar, you end up making around $1,200 that second month because you got another $600 in sales from your first batch of subscribers, and then you got $600 from your new batch of subscribers.

This means that for month three, you have $1,200 available… So roll it again! Roll it all and buy yourself $1,200 worth.

So this 3rd month didn’t cost you anything because you are now just rolling your profits, making bigger and bigger ad buys.

Keep rolling those profits – 100% of the profits… Don’t touch that money for any reason. It is exclusively used to roll into bigger purchases.

Once you get to the point that you feel comfortable with your monthly income… STOP.

Stop rolling it. Instead, just go back to ordering 1,000 per week or month to keep ahead of your attrition rate.

So now you are making a beautiful full-time income, plus enough extra to keep your list always refreshed.

Congratulations! You made it to the big league! Welcome aboard!

Of course, the numbers I used in this example are pulled out of thin air… There is no way to know in advance what your own conversion and sub-conversion ratios are going to be, but that does not in any way negate the process.

You invest money upfront to build your list – you nurture your list via relationship building (covered in another tutorial), and you roll 100% of your profits back into your list building in order to make it to your end result as quickly as humanly possible.

As you can see, when you use both of these methods together, your list building efforts compound, and you reach lofty goals way more quickly than you ever imagined before!

I can hear in your head again! This time you are saying, “Hey – I never thought about it that way! This is going to be far easier to achieve than I ever thought. I wish someone would have explained it to me this way years ago!”

Well, I can’t help you with those years in the past… But I can say, “You’re Welcome! for what is likely to be the best year you ever had online 🙂

Your ‘ol pal,
Cliff.

Update late 2020

The solo ad market is great if you find the right sellers that can handle the volume you need as well as send quality traffic.

Unfortunately, I shared my own traffic contacts with all IIM members and we overwhelmed them. They thought they could handle the flow, they assured me they could, yet within 90 days no one was receiving quality traffic anymore. Sure, orders were being filled, but not with acceptable quality.

I decided to simply walk away. I’m not going to tell you not to use solo ads, because they do work if you find the right suppliers.

However, Facebook & Youtube can send you unlimited traffic and you control the quality yourself. You cannot overwhelm the big social media places.
